The movie touches on the historical context of our education system and offers a new and different framework for modern education and how it could be re-designed to better fit our current modern culture. In a non-survival situation, like camping or back packing you have the choice of what to bring. Many people would have a few variations but the basics are as follows: Navigation tools, sun protection, proper clothing, illumination, first aid, fire starter, repair kit and multi tool (Swiss army knife), food water (filter), and shelter (tent/tarp)….
Using your smart phone to check your location is not going to always be an option. Being able to navigate and assess your surroundings is key. Be able to read a compass and a topographical map, if you have one, is a great skill to have. Using the sun to orient yourself is very important….
